The RotoBowl Pressure Casting System
PCL Rotobowl in action

This new patented casting system offers a brand new approach to pressure casting more complex bowls

and is significantly more flexible than previous high pressure casting systems.

PCL Rotobowl casting image

Based on the PCB570 casting system, a single bowl mould cell has been mounted in a cradle unit capable of rotating the complete mould 140 degrees during the casting process improving both slip filling and draining operations.

Individual casting or complete casting cells (twin module) can be turned on or off as required to suit product output needs without affecting the other casting cells within the system.

Each module also incorporates “Total Individual Mould Station Control” (TIMSC) allowing total control of the casting parameters of a mould and therefore a full range of products can be cast at the same time.

This system uses proven PCL bowl casting technology that has been in operation for nearly 20 years

and brings the next level of flexibility, suitable for open and stuck on rim bowls.

RotoBowl Casting Machine Benefits Include
  • Variable drain angle for button free bowl casting

  • Increased mould utilisation due to shorter demoulding times

  • Variable fill angle to eliminate slip-meet and other filling issues

  • Reduced mould inventory requirements due to higher output rate per mould

  • Suitable for three-piece, four-piece, five-piece, open and stuck on box rim bowls

  • Simple compact construction with automatic demoulding, hole forming/punching and rim to body assembly

Our high-pressure casting machines

Our two-part mould casting machine range produces a full range of sanitaryware pieces. The PC570 and PC120 multi mould overhead beam systems can cast items in both vitreous and fine fireclay ranging from small wash basins to large shower trays.

PCL has several bowl machines capable of producing the full range of WC bowls. Our PCB multi mould system offers the capability of producing 8 bowls in one cycle. Our revolutionary RotoBowl is a modular system and can produce both open and stuck on rim bowls on the same cell.

PCL can supply a number of machine upgrades to our casting systems to increase their flexibility and further improve productivity and ease of use.

In addition to our standard range of machines PCL can design and build a machine to suit your specific casting requirements to an agreed specification.
